Suddenly from a few days ago I have been receiving literally over a hundred emails a day all of which appear come from different people but with subject matter in a foreign language- looks like Polish or similar. I have posted these all as Junk but they still keep coming. Some of the names of the senders - all different- sound middle european but others american. I can think of nothing that I have done to cause this problem & I am usually very cautious in using & opening emails. What has gone wrong?????

sounds like some spammer somewhere as got your email address. It might take a few weeks, but the volume usually drops off as your mail provider works out they are getting huge amounts of spam.

The Thunderbird junk filter will do it's best. But it does struggle with image spam... where the message is sent as a picture.
