
My notification sound won't play anymore, neither the default one or custom sounds.
I have tried using various other custom sound files as well as the default sound file. Can't even get it to play using the play button in options. It worked great for years. Windows 7, all the latest updates. I have searched and searched on this topic but can't seem to resolve it. Thanks much! -Doug

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:
- Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
I did as you said and it made no difference. I don't think I have ever even used any add-ons in the first place. Nevertheless... no change. Thanks for the reply!
