Can you guys please rebrand and redesign from 'firefox browser' to something more general purpose? Or let the user choose what icon etc they would like?

Howsit!

Can you guys please change "firefox browser" to something more generally designed? Don't get me wrong Mozilla's work on Firefox web browser is great however I think you guys could grow further if you re-brand. Something like Rocket Browser or something more general. "Firefox" seems to be strange. A simple redesign of the browser icon, renaming or letting the user choose the icon can score you guys massively.

If you guys require help or further explanation please let me know!

Who else can I forward this to?

All the best!

Firefox has been the name of this web browser since it was at version 0.8 back in February 2004. It would have been Phoenix as it was for 0.1 to 0.5 but changed to Firebird at 0.6 due to Phoenix Bios. Then it was changed from Firebird to Firefox due to Firebird sql.

The name "Firefox" is a reference to the red panda (the icon) and was in similarity to Firebird which is why the email client (no longer a Mozilla product) has name of Thunderbird.

Mozilla is not about to change the name again after over twelve years now.

Btw "Rocket Browser" is already in use as for example https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rocket.browser&hl=en

This is a pretty strange request. If you'd like to get involved helping get more people to download and install Firefox we'd love the assistance (share Firefox on social media, get involved in local events, help your friends and relatives switch), but we aren't re-branding, there is no reason to.
