Why did Firefox disappear from my computer when I clicked yes to accept the latest update?

Firefox seems to have disappeared from my computer after I agreed to have the latest update done. I'm assuming that if I download it from scratch, I will lose all of my settings and bookmarks. What can I do? I am definitely not a technology expert.

Hi, are you sure it's gone? It may be just the Desktop or Taskbar shortcut to Firefox.

Can you see it in your Programs? Try typing Mozilla Firefox into the Start Menu search box, and see if it comes up. If it does, you should be able to right click on it > Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut).

To answer your question. If you download it from mozilla.org you shouldn't lose bookmarks or settings, because they are stored separately: Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
