Restarted my pc and suddenly lost all my history, add-ins and bookmarks. Appears all my back-ups also gone. I don't use sync. Running Windows 8.1 on Lenovo laptop with Intel i5. I have no idea what happened. Didn't do anything unusual.

if youhave a firefox syncaccount, you can retrieve back all the lost data

Thank you for your response. Regretably, I don't have a sync-account. I need to retrieve my bookmarks as they represent many years of specialist research. Since I did nothing unusual, it would be useful to discover how the loss of add-ins and bookmarks heppened.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
