I have my all mail folder set at one day - I still got emails from 2 weeks ago

Retention should mean - after "X" days they are gone correct?

All Mail is a special gmail folder. Gmail has a habit of making their own rules and ignoring others. Personally I unsubscribe to the All Mail folder since it is redundant to all my other folders.

I understand that that folder is a gmail folder - it has to be I wouldnt want another folder to put the same mail I get every day (which is inane)

Two issues

  1. 1 this "retention" policy is bogus
  1. 2 how does a user unsubscribe from that folder? I do not see it in the settings for that accnt

From the Menu Bar select File-Subscribe.

Uncheck the folders you do not want to see.

If your Menu Bar is hidden, press the alt key to make it appear.
