New to Linux. Do I need to installl anti-virus software when using linux/firefox?

Just converted from Microsoft windows/Google chrome environment where I used McAfee anti-virus software. Do I need to do the same thing when using Linux/firefox?

No you do not really need a antivirus client on desktop Linux. You should keep your Linux distro up to date on security patches though.

That is not to say Linux is not a popular target as it has a huge chunk of the servers market and a monopoly on the supercomputers.
