Without opening a new one (as Thunderbird does by default). Except the solution of "Thunderbird Coversations" add-on. If i can do this without any add-on.

Chosen solution

Yes. Matt meant the "Thunderbird Conversations" add-on that you mentioned yourself in your first posting.

No, Thunderbird doesn't have its own "quick reply".

I don't know that this is possible. When you open a message in the reading window you will see that all the tools for writing a message (font size, bold, italic etc.) are missing: it's just a window for reading messages, so far as I know.

I mean something like "quick reply" - inline reply.

The answer is NO.

Conversations has a quick reply. Thunderbird does not. It has a compose window

I couldn't understand what do you mean "conversations". Do you mean in other email clients? The feature "quick reply" is something that is used broadely by many email clients. So, it does not exist in Thunderbird by default?

Ok. Thank all of you for your answers.
