Unable to connect to any website just in Firefox but other browser loads pages. Did every single troubleshooting from the articles in the Mozilla.org page.
I have Wndows 10. The other day, I updated Firefox from 45.0.1 or 45.0.0. Before I had updated to Firefox 45.0.2, everything was working fine but then after 45.0.2 just give me message saying that unable to connect. I am able to access webpages in Chrome without any problems. I did try every single solutions that was on Firefox knowledge base. I even uninstalled and reinstall Firefox to no avail. Yes, I did flush out DNS and reset connection, checked my firewall settings (I use Zonealarm) and I even uncheck https scanning in Avast firewall. Yes both firewall and antivirus are up to date. I did check for malware - none were present according to Malwarebytes, did virus scan no viruses present. Around the same time Microsoft update were downloaded and installed so I uninstall those and Firefox did not work so it couldn't be from Microsoft update. I am so out of ideas. I hope that someone can come up with a solution and do I have to wait for another update of Firefox to fix this issue? Thank you to anyone for his or her time for help. Sincerely, Andrea
PS, I am posting this from Chrome because I could not access any webpages at all via Firefox

Off the record, ZoneAlarm is one security product that regularly causes trouble. It is not the only one, of course, but at least now you know. My go-to alternatives are Bitdefender and ESET, if you'd like to try out something different. Both offer long free trials. So far they've mostly caused issues via their SSL scanning (because it appears to be a man-in-the-middle attack for the browser), but that seems to apply to most if not all security products right now. No browser lockouts AFAIK.
The above is just my personal experience as a volunteer.

Hey there, sorry to hear your 45.0.2 update didn't go so well.
If nothing you do to the browser helps, then the prime suspect is naturally the firewall or security software refusing the new browser version (since old version + other browsers work). You could try a trusted site in Windows' Safe Mode with Networking to rule out those factors; as it says in the support article, even disabling the software in question may not stop all its components from working, but an OS Safe Mode boot should.
Before you do that, though, did you just verify the firewall setting or remove Firefox and then add it back in in ZoneAlarm?
A short-term solution would be to downgrade to the last working version: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox. Since you could use 45.0 or 45.0.1, there should be minimal risk in doing so.
I did verify my firewall settings and everything even removed Friefox from Zonealarm that didn't work. I did check Firefox in the Safe mode, that did not work either. I will see if downgrading will work.
Alright, you've done the right thing then; too often people are happy to just check that the Firefox entry is in the Allowed list and leave it at that. ;)
The Windows Safe Mode with Networking scenario is just about the only way to rule out external factors in your system. I haven't seen a surge in 45.0.2 connection issues, knock on wood, so this may be specific to your setup.
Thank you for helping anyway :) I finally figure out the issue so back to Firefox. What I did was reset security settings to default in Zonealarm and it worked like a charm. Hopefully it stays that way. Thank you for your suggestions. Take care - Andrea
