Firefox wont connect to the internet,Ive gone into system and security to try and allow it through the firewall by removing and reinst but still it wont connect

Downloaded firefox but I cant access the internet so I followed on screen instructions to remove Firefox and then to the add button to allow it to be reinstated...no go. So I disabled the firewall to see if it would then allow me to connect temporarily..no go... I can access internet ok through internet explorer and I am definitely connected at all times...anyone got an answer?

What error message are you getting ? Maybe a screenshot will help or paste the exact message into a reply please
