TB loads external images with delay (6 sec) in Linux Mint in comparison with using it in Win7 (instant load). What would cause this?
I'm experiencing a slow image download in every message, about 6-8 seconds(!) versus the almost instant (!) download of images using Thunderbird in win7 in the same pc/connection/etc. Same goes for my laptop. Image size doesn't matter, either it's a small icon or a large photo, loading time is still slow. Also one observation I did, which I think it's critical, is that if I open a message from a sender, i.e. a newsletter with lots of images of products etc., once is loaded, if I open another one from the same sender, images, even though different (well except from some logos and stuff), are loaded instantly! It's as if "the connection is established and got a stream of images loaded with no delay". Has anyone ever had the same issue? I've searched and searched, but found nothing in forums or the web that describes my problem and this is very strange. To me it looks like some networking fault somewhere, but can't define what. Firefox works just fine btw.

OK, I FINALLY SOLVED THE ISSUE!!! Solution: I clicked on Advanced tab in Thunderbird Preferences and then Config Editor and set network.dns.disableIPv6 to true.
I guess my router settings/ISP/country is not ready for IPV6, which one it is I will look into more thoroughly soon. And why the delay happened is pretty much explained here here.
I hope this solution will help others too!
