How do I run install Adobe Flash Player and how do I get tool bar to find 'tools'? New to Firefox and on the point of binning it!

Saved Adobe Flash Player loads of time - all in my download folder, but nothing happens when I click on them. Been reading various 'helps' - one said click on 'tools' in tool bar which don't seem to have... Saw to come out of Firefox - but then what about accessing the download folder? I am struggling with the help info as I am not very computer literate - just trying to create a photobook that requires me to have Adobe Flash Player 20! Giving up! I am using Windows.

Hi, you need to install Flash Player on your computer: Install Flash Player - be sure to deselect the McAfee offer! It should then appear in your computer's Programs as 'Adobe Flash Player 20 NPAPI.'

Once you have done that, restart Firefox then open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Plugins, where you should see 'Shockwave Flash 20.0.0.306.'

To see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help) temporarily, press Alt. If you would like it to remain there all the time, right click in the tab bar (but not on a tab) and tick/check Menu Bar.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

Open your Download folder by clicking the download inverted arrow next to the search bar and should it show up there. "Double click" or better yet tell it to open location if can. (you can always change the download location From Menu under Tools then Options in General 1/2 way down the page, change to Desktop if that helps you out or use Always Ask Me Where To Save Files). No idea why the file is not running when "Double Click it", possibly corrupted. Give it a try saving some place where your more comfortable with where the file goes. Please let is know how that works for you and mark it as solved if it is the solution, G'luck

"Tools" is a menu on the classic menu bar.

To turn different bars on and off in Firefox for Windows, you can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select the desired bars there:

To turn on the Menu Bar, Bookmarks Toolbar, or other bars, click it on the list.

The normal Flash installer is a small downloader itself. Sometimes security software may block such an installer. Adobe has a page where you can download the whole installer at once:

https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

In the first table, look for the row for "plugin-based browsers" and you can use either the EXE or the MSI installer.

To ensure that the old version is removed, please close any tabs that are using Flash, or exit out of Firefox, during the update.

Then you can double-click the installer in the Download folder to run it.

If nothing happens: Try restarting Windows from the Windows Start menu. When the Windows installer gets too many deferred updates queued, it stops working correctly, and these deferred updates are done at Windows shutdown and startup. Then try the Flash installer again.

Many thanks to everyone who replied - I've done it!
