To be honest, I am not 100% certain of what you are trying to achieve.

Are you trying to open links from Firefox in Internet Explorer? If so, you may wish to try this add-on.

Hi

Internet Explorer 8 is a different web browser to Firefox. You may need to change the default browser settings in Windows for a URL to open in a different browser.

I recommend you consult the Microsoft support pages, but it is worth noting that I believe that Internet Explorer 8 may no longer be supported and you will have to update to a more modern browser.
