How do I get back link previews?
I've just upgraded to Fedora 21 and Firefox 42. Among other issues, I don't have link previews any longer, and I use them regularly to see just where a link leads before using it. I have Status4Ever installed, but it doesn't help. What else can I do?
Chosen solution
OK, when I did that, I had no menus, no status bar, no way to exit except for clicking on the Close button in the top right corner. However, I did have a pop-up on the lower left of the window that shows links. I've restarted Firefox, and it seems to be working correctly. Weird. (Changing the theme wasn't an issue, as I only use the default.) I have no idea what when wrong, or how this fixed it, but thanx for the suggestion.

Interclue 1.6.3.1-signed by Seth Wagoner Interclue {web link} Ever wanted to know what was behind the link before you clicked? Interclue tells you everything you need to know before you open yet another tab.
That's not what I asked for. What I want is to get back the functionality that I had before: the url itself shows up on the status bar. Nothing more, nothing less. If you don't know, don't waste my time with things I didn't ask for and don't want.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

It could have been a corrupt file that was overwritten.
It's always possible, because I'd just had an OS upgrade go bad and it took three days at a CLI to get it working again.
