What is the purpose for the icon, WebIDE or Web|DE, and what does it do?

merrydayz

This icon just showed with my other icons beside my search bar. It's a circle covered in grid lines with a pencil or stylus image in its bottom left area.

I have no idea what it is or what happens if I click it. [Oops, I clicked it and Firefox quit responding - so I exited - still don't know what It is]

Please let me know about this if you can. Thank you, Merry

Hello,

WebIDE is a tool for developers to test and build websites, it's not intended for regular users. If you want to remove the icon from your toolbar, you can just right-click on it and choose "Remove from Toolbar".

You can set devtools.webide.enabled to false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Hi cor-el,

Thank you for helping me understand WebIDE. Your reply was very helpful and your time much appreciated. Merry
