Firefox crashes on certain websites, in safe mode too

FF crashes on certain websites (e.g. Google login pages, Wordpress 4.4 websites,...), even in Safe Mode, but NOT if Javascript is turned off. Maybe it's a system font issue (?), but I'm bad at reading the crash details. I'm having this problem for quite some time now, but the crashes increased on more websites recently.
