Firefox 42 on New MAC (Yosemite) will not go true full screen; leaves tab bar & search bar visible although about:config set correctly; any cure?

I am running animation programs created in NSB App Studio (they use webkit) as an art project. They run better in Firefox (smoother, faster) than in Safari or Chrome, but whereas I can put Safari or Chrome into true full screen mode (using "Presentation mode" or by adding :- javascript: document.documentElement.webkitRequestFullScreen() to the program), I can find no way to make Firefox 42 on a new MAC laptop (MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) hide the tab bar and the search bar.

About:config is set correctly.

I have seen the suggestion that "document.getElementByTagName('html')[0].mozRequestFullscreen" will do it in Firefox, but I cannot make that work......perhaps because I do not know how to apply it! I would be grateful for a solution...... it must be possible since Youtube videos go full screen perfectly on my system. I would be so grateful for a solution!

Many thanks for suggesting the "Old Lion Fullscreen" extension. I had tried several extensions, and they all either failed to work, or were too buggy to use. This one seems OK.... I had given up before trying it. Does anyone know why Firefox does not include a "Presentation mode", like the ones in Opera and Chrome? It must be a common requirement.
