How to prevent old UserProfile settings overrule the locked down mozilla.cfg

I've a locked down deployment of Firefox v.42. which works great. I use the method of the mozilla.cfg and the local-settings.js. The user can't change the settings which I specify.

But when a user has an old "Mozilla" folder in their user profile these settings overrule. I can't find an answer how I can prevent this.

With other words, I don't want the Firefox settings in the user profile to be loaded. (Because I am virtualizing FF for a point solution).

I'm not sure if I understand your scenario.

Can you give more details and possibly attach a screenshot?

The mozilla.cfg file should work globally when the Firefox version that includes the mozilla.cfg file is started.

Are you talking about a file in the Firefox profile folder or is this about something else like an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop?
