Firefox can't load Amazon or Pinterest but IE can. Other sites I use load fine.
Both sites load to some degree, but not fully. Amazon, I'm still seeing Javascript.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- make sure you have the latest Flash version:
http://www.adobe.com/special/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - check for updates for your graphics drive drivers
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration - disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Windows Vista and later)
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/adobe-flash-protected-mode-firefox - disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html - disable hardware acceleration in Firefox

Ack! Hit the wrong button and it posted before I was ready. - What I was saying.... Amazon shows Javascript in book descriptions. I can't get that to clear up. It wasn't doing that a couple of weeks or so ago when I last was on that site looking at books. No idea what may have changed, except for updating Firefox.
Pinterest partially loads then the space below the stats (pins/followers/following/etc) where the boards should show just has the loading icon turning without any progress. Was just on there a week or two ago with no problems.
Graphics attached to show both of those.
Other sites like Facebook, Barnes & Noble, Yahoo, and such are loading and working fine.
I'm on Windows 7 with Firefox fully updated. I've tried a bunch of things recommended on this site - REFRESH FIREFOX, checked for malware, cleaned out my cache and cookies, disabling Javascript (NoScript add-on), and such. None of it made a bit of difference except it wasn't allowing me to log into anything with NoScript running). I don't know what else to try.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
Had already tried all of that. None of it made a bit of difference.
Oh, and I just realized, Scrabble on Facebook is no longer working either. It worked fine until I upgraded Firefox and started trying to get this problem solved. grr Screenshot of the Scrabble mess is attached.

What security software do you have?
Security software - no Kaspersky, McAfee, or Norton. Only Windows Security and routine checks for malware and such. So far, that's done a better job of keeping my computer bug free than any of the AV softwares listed above.
Shockwave and all are up to date.
I just stopped using Firefox rather than deal with the frustration. Opera is working perfectly, using the same version of Shockwave, Flash Player, etc that I had for Firefox. I can't explain why I started having problems. Hubby is using Firefox, updated like mine, and it's working, so it's something with my copy. He suggested uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it since nothing else has worked. I don't have time to mess with it anymore. I've already spent a whole day on it. I may try the uninstall/reinstall approach tomorrow if I'm not frustrated anymore.
You usually get such garbled pages if you software is making changes to the HTTP response headers like removing compression information, so you see the compressed data and not the actual data.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Tried that - TWICE - no change.
