Since downloading newest version, can't find or restore the icon for MS Word
Microsoft word documents are usable on my computer, but I can't access the program unless I choose a file. I previously had an icon on my start menu and also on my bar at the bottom of the page, but they are gone. The cursor also does the circle thing all the time (sorry, don't know what it's called). Other than that, Firefox works well. Thanks for any help you might give me.

Firefox shouldn't interfere with your Word icon.
Is there a problem with Firefox blocking access to the Windows 7 Taskbar and Start menu? If it's not blocked, you may be able to generate a new Word shortcut for the Start menu, desktop, and/or taskbar.
Regarding the circle thing, I think you mean that pages are loading slowly or perhaps never finish loading. If something hasn't loaded in 15 seconds, you could try clicking the "x" at the right end of the address bar and then click in the address and press Enter to have Firefox try again. Do you notice any pattern to this problem, specific sites or kinds of sites, or other pattern?
Hi. Thanks so much for the answer and sorry for the late reply. The "loading" sign seems to be on much of the time, but everything seems to be loading okay so I'm not too concerned about that.
When I go into Program Files/Microsoft Office/ Office 14 to find MS Word so that I can make a shortcut, the MS word .exe file is not there. I can still access my word documents, but can't start the program any other way. I hope I'm explaining myself okay. If you need more info let me know. Felicia
Hmm, when I right-click my Word shortcut it has an unusual "Target" entry which is grayed out and can't be edited (or even copied/pasted): "Microsoft Office Single Image 2010". I don't know where that comes from. There probably is a trick documented on a Microsoft forum or other Office forum for regenerating these special shortcuts.
