How do I get rid of this Welcome to Thunderbird that has now appeared at the bottom of my e-mails? I hate change, and this just needs to go. I'm not a compute

I just want all of my e-mails listed on the entire page (top to bottom) like it was yesterday. I am not sure that I did anything to cause the bottom portion of the page to show a light blue area stating Welcome to Thunderbird. I need this to go away. Thank you for your assistance. J

Do you have a Menu Bar showing with File-Edit-View etc? If not, press the alt key to make it appear.

From the Menu Bar select Tools-Options-General

The first option on that page is to show the Start Page. Clear the check mark in that option.

Your advice got rid of the Welcome to Thunderbird, but now that space is just a blank area at the bottom of my messages. Any thoughts?

It is blank until you select a message. It is called the Message Pane and it displays messages that you single click on. F8 turns the message Pane on and off.
