firefox sent me an email to my yahoo address and it showed up but yahoo is blocking the content so I can't verify to finish setting up my account

Hi, have a look at the email header and see if there is an unblock option there. If not, you will have to open the Yahoo mail settings (cog-wheel in top right corner), and look - probably under Security.
