Hi guys!

I'm trying to use the VLC plugin to play audio/video in Firefox without having to download/save it. When I click on a link to a file, it just says "Activate Quicktime." I believe that I installed the VLC plugin correctly and that the MIME types are setup correctly.

Version Info:

OS: OS X 10.9.5 Firefox: 40.0.3 VLC: 2.2.1 VLC Web Plugin: 2.2.1

video-msvideo (AVI video: avi) and video-xmpeg (MPEG video mpg, mpeg, etc)

are among the MIME types configured for the VLC Web Plugin in the Firefox plugins menu.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
