Why no page refreshing/redirecting?
Firefox keeps displaying a gray bar across the top of the page saying that it will not let the page redirect, or refresh. I have to click Allow to continue. This has just recently started and it is bothersome. How can I fix it? These pages are ones I go to all the time and are not weird or unusual.

Many users seems to have turned on an accessibility feature accidentally. To turn off the redirect block, you can use the Advanced panel of the Preferences page:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the General mini-tab, in the Accessibility section, uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Does that work?

Thank you!
there used to be an option to "warn me when........." but that seems to have disappeared recently. Also, the "allow" button had 2 choices to either allow once or always. That's gone, too. I tried adding the website to the allowed pop-ups but that did nothing. Using Win 7 and the latest update of FF.
Hi Jayne, did you just install Firefox 42.0? Our support article doesn't show any change to the availability of the "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" checkbox: Advanced panel - Accessibility, browsing, network, updates, and other advanced settings in Firefox. However, sometimes minor changes are missed. If you check the Options page, is it gone?
I don't think the Allow button on that particular bar has/had the option to remember because it is not applied on a site-by-site basis, it's all or nothing.
Hi Jayne
I don't know if this behaves differently in Private Browsing mode, so you can check that.
Are you on Mac just like the OP that created the thread?
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).
- Options/Preferences > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
