how do I compress the favorites bar to fit more on it??
I have about 20 sites I would like to put on my favorites bar- how do I compress the exiting sites so as to fit more up there??

By 'Favourites', do you mean to say the Bookmarks toolbar?
In which case you could consider shortening each bookmark's name. Otherwise, if you need even more space, you could try removing each bookmark's name, leaving only the icon.

How do you remove the script next to the icon? I see no way of doing that- what's frustrating is that IE does it automatically...
Right click on the bookmark, then click on Properties. You can abbreviate the Name right down to nothing. You can also put similar bookmarks into Folders with appropriate names on the Bookmarks Toolbar. Again, right clicking on the Bar will offer New Folder.
Not everyone seems to know that overflow of bookmarks goes down the right side of the page, accessed via the chevrons(double arrowhead).
