Error while sending via identities
I have a problem sending via identities in Thunderbird. I have one main address (laura@laurasangiorgi.nl) and two alternative email addresses (administratie@laurasangiorgi.nl and informatie@laurasangiorgi.nl). Emails sent to the two alternative email addresses are directly forwarded to my main address, so I only want to integrate the main address in Thunderbird, but I want to be able to respond via one of the alternative addresses. Therefore, I made 2 identities out of the alternative addresses. However, when I want to send from these identities, I receive the following error:
"Er is een fout opgetreden bij het verzenden van e-mail. De mailserver antwoordde: 5.7.1 <informatie@laurasangiorgi.nl>: Recipient address rejected: Username laura@laurasangiorgi.nl and sender administratie@laurasangiorgi.nl doesnt match. Controleer de berichtontvanger ‘informatie@laurasangiorgi.nl’ en probeer het opnieuw."
Attached you will find printscreens of the situation above.
Would you please be so kind as to help me solve this problem?
Thanks in advance and kind regards, Laura

It sounds like you are sending using the Outgoing server SMTP that is used by your main account email address. So, when the server gets the email, it looks at the FROM email address and the email address of the the Outgoing server SMTP and detects they are not the same.
I have a mail account with different identites like you and they use another Outgoing server SMTP belonging to a different and my main mail account.
I had to make sure that the main mail account could allow other email addresses through that Outgoing server SMTP which has a different email address and password. At the moment, it cannot allow different email address with different passwords to use that main mail account to send via because it has no knowledge of them.
Access your webmail for the main mail account. There has to be a means of adding email addresses that can be allowed to send via that main mail account server.
Alternatively, you could try this:
add another Outgoing Server SMTP for each of those other email addresses.
Tools > Account Settings > Outgoing Server (SMTP)
- click on 'Add'
- Enter details of the eg:admin email address
- click on Ok
Now assign that admin identity to use that admin Outgoing server SMTP
- Select the mail account in left pane.
- click on 'Manage identies' button
- select the identity and click on Edit'
- 'Settings' tab - at the bottom you will see 'Outgong Server (SMTP)'
- select the one you just created for that identity email address.
- click on OK
Close the 'identites' window.
Click on OK to save changes to Account Settings.
If this works ok, you can repeat the process for the other info email address.
