Chosen solution

This option isn't any more available in the standard options, but it still exist in advanced configuration. To set "text only", enter "about:config" in the URL bar, accept the warning, search "permissions.default.image" and change the value from 1 (by default) to 2. To restore image display, same with changing value from 2 to 1.
