I play a game called Tanki Online which has different maps and tanks (graphical elements). I was using chrome but it was laggy and so I used firefox and the game performance was better but however, the cache and cookies are getting deleted automatically everytime firefox is closed. Clear history when firefox closes is unchecked. Automatic cache management is unchecked. Please help...

Hi Sparkzz, be sure you are NOT in private browsing mode.

If you are in normal (not private browsing) mode seek IF you have in your profile folder a User.js file.

The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create and write in the file also).

thank you

I deleted it but i have one more question. I found the cache folder. If I copy it to some other location and paste it back before playing the game, will the game work without having to load all data once again?

Not likely. Firefox keeps the cache management file in memory during the session and write these to disk when Firefox is closed.

You can use these steps to make a website remember you:

  • Create a cookie 'allow' exception to keep cookies from this domain, especially when cookies expire when Firefox is closed and with secure connections.
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

You can check if local storage in Flash is enabled in case the game uses that to store data.

Flash Website Storage Settings panel:
