Change smtp setting in existing account?
I need to change smtp settings on several existing accounts (because the provider has changed their server names from mail.nnn to smtp.nnn).
In settings, the Outgoing server (SMTP) setting only allows me to choose from a drop-down list of existing smtp servers, i.e. those I have previously entered for various existing accounts. None of those servers meets my need, of course.
It seems that the only way forward is for me to completely re-create at least one of the accounts and then use its smtp server for the other existing acounts, as far the provider will allow me.
This is a nuisance because I then have to re-enter filters, move archives, copy across inbox, sent and draft folder contents, move all customised folders & probably a few other things I haven't thought of yet.
This question was previously asked at the archived topic "how to change the smtp. element of the outbound mail server". https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/999283 As far as I can see, the replies there don't offer a solution. Sorry if I've misunderstood that or missed another posting which solves this.

Tools > Account Settings or right click on mail account in folder pane and select 'SEttings'
In the left pane: click on 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' see image below.
You will see a list of your smtp servers. select to highlight the one in the list which you want to modify. Click on 'Edit' button
a new window opens, so you can modify the server name.
click on OK
Click on Ok to save and close Account Settings.

Thanks. I've just stumbled on that and logged on to apologise for asking!
But I did try very hard to find the answer, and I'm an experienced user (been using email since 1988) so perhaps something needs to be done to make the answer easier to find? It's not self-evident that you'll find it at the bottom of the accounts list, rather than say under Tools-Options, and if like me you have a number of accounts and they're generally displayed with some trees expanded, you simply may never notice the smtp options tucked out of sight.
Then again I may have missed the obvious (brain is losing neurones these days).
Anyway, thanks for the quick & useful reply.
