When I open Thunderbird I have to wait (Windows rotating cursor and grayed out right hand window) about 10 seconds before I can press Get Messages.

When the waiting is over the right hand window is normal.

I also still have problem with one of my email-accounts (Kurre). All of the accounts are having exactly the same settings, but Kurre refuses to be shown under Local folders.

re: All of the accounts are having exactly the same settings, but Kurre refuses to be shown under Local folders.

I presume all your mail accounts are POP mail accounts. Please advise if different.

I also presume that you have set up all but Kurre to be Global Inbox. If you have any emails in 'Kurre' Inbox, move them to a suitable folder in Local Folders.

Go offline to prevent any connection to servers. To go offline: In bottom Status bar - click on the far left 2 blue screen icon, it will become 2 black screen icon when in offline mode.

Check Kurre account settings: Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the Kurre Pop mail account. click on 'Advanced' button Select: Inbox for different account and select 'Global Inbox (Local folders) Click on 'OK'

Check settings for other folders:

Click on 'Copies & Folders' for the Kurre mail account make sure the settings are pointing to Local Folders eg: Sent, Archive, Drafts, Templates Click on 'Junk Settings' for the Kurre mail account make sure the settings are pointing to Local Folders Junk. Click on 'OK' to save changes to Account Settings

Close and restart Thunderbird.

Thunderbird should restart in Online mode, but if it does not... Go back to Online mode: In bottom Status bar - click on the far left 2 black screen icon, it will become 2 blue screen icon when in Online mode.

Now you can Get Messages.

Thank you very much. New things are learned every day. The only thing that puzzles me is why kurre was set up differently from the other accounts. I set up them at the same time because I changed from ADSL to a fiber connection from another ISP. Now I "only" have to figure out why the right hand window is grayed out for about 10 seconds when I open Thunderbird.
