The "open All in tabs" function always opens an extra blank tab in addition to the list of URLs from the bookmarks. How can I get it to stop?

It is as if the "open all in tabs" were opened as extra tabs to an original blank one. Whereas it would be better if the bookmarked list of sites were the only tabs opened. Thanks.

Clear recent searches from the Search bar or delete this tab manually from the Show > All History menu.

Is that really a blank tab (about:blank) or possibly an about:newtab page with hidden (disabled) content?

It is labelled "new tab" and has no content.

Try changing the default newtab page:

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. Type browser.newtab.url in the search box to find it on the list.
  4. Double-click on browser.newtab.url and type in about:newtab in the window that pops up.

I think that is how it works as I also see this myself if I open bookmarks in a folder. The logic doesn't seem to check if the currently selected tab is a about:blank blank tab, but always opens new tabs for each bookmark.

The problem is really quite simple. On my bookmarks bar, I have folders. In the folders, there are chosen webpages. When I open a new window and choose to open all in tabs, by all logic, I should get a page with a tab for each of the webpages in the folder INSTEAD of the the new blank page, but I get them IN ADDITION to the new blank page. No fun.

Just switched to Firefox from Safari because everyone told me it was way better. This is certainly not better.

Thanks.
