i WANT TO BE ABLE TO GIVE A PHONE NUMBER WHEN NEEDED AND CALL A LANDLINE OR MOBILE AS WELL AS ANOTHER COMPUTER THRU A SOFTPHONE PROGRAM FOR FREE WITHOUT NEED FOR EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN MY LAPTOP OR ANDROID TABLET. I ASSUME THE SOFTPHONE PROGRAM ISSUES THE PHONE NUMBER FROM WHAT I HAVE READ. ALL MY LOCAL FRIENDS USE SKYPE WITH ME, MY LONG-DISTANCE SON DOES AS WELL. iTS THE DRUGSTORE AND DOCTOR'S OFFICE THAT DONT AND ARE ADAMANT THAT THEY WONT DO BOOKINGS BY EMAIL EITHER. I GAVE UP MY LANDLINE AS WELL AS CABLE IN JANUARY WHEN THE COMPANY REFUSE TO ADMIT THEY HAD BEEN RIPPING ME OFF AND DOUBLE BILLING. I BLEW IT AND TOLD THEM WHERE THEY COULD INSERT THEIR EQUIPMENT. Sorry - not yelling. I dont really want a Magic Jack thing and am not sure where to look on the net. Every time I go looking I get sucked into reading page after page of stuff I dont get or get confused by, and before I know it I am miles away from what I was looking for and wasted the whole day. When I heard we had Hello I tried looking up about what it does and doesnt do and I dont think it is what I am needing unless I am missing something (?) in the translation. Now I give up, I cant wrap my head around all the technical stuff but I remembered we have a forum and I am guessing some of you out there know what I need and what would work for me (oh please, oh pretty-please) and I can avoid having another stroke in order to get this organized. HELP !!! (now I am yelling) HELP ME SOMEBODY, ANYBODY , please....

Hello can only connect to another computer or mobile device if you email a specific link to that person's computer.

Maybe Skype can do what you want. As long as you only make a computer to computer connection then it should be free. If you would want to make a call to a landline if that is possible with the service that you use then normal charges should apply.

This is a forum for Firefox, we can't really help you with this. I'm sorry.

If you have a Firefox question however I'm sure we can help!

Are you saying that Hello doesn't do what I asked about? And there isnt an add-on to Hello that would do it either? I realize I do go on when trying to describe what I am asking, but I was referring to an app or add-on to Firefox that could do what I asked. Thanx for the reply anyway.

Thank you for cutting to the quick for me Cor-el. I will look up those links, and your answer was exactly what I was looking for. I apologize to the other moderator, Tyler for the confusion. I am truly sorry Tyler, that is the same confusion I have been experiencing while trying to draw out the answers from the different pages on mozilla help. My brain just doesn't want to function these days, and its not the Help's fault - its all me. Thanks to everybody.
