hyperlinks in windows xp yahoo mail are not working

Emails are received in yahoo mail indicating to "click on the link below", however when I attempt to do this the link is not underlined, highlighted, nor is it "clickable". I am using an old computer with windows XP. The problem has just arisen the last couple weeks. Prior to that everything worked fine. Thanks

If a Firefox Refresh does not work, try to right click on the link and select "Open in a New Tab" or "Open in a New Window"

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Some mail programs and mail sites may deactivate suspicious links and provide a button or link to reactive them. I don't know whether Yahoo! mail does that but if it does, you likely would see the same issue in other browsers.

If it isn't a Yahoo! feature, it could be that the URL is actually was sent as plain text rather than a clickable link. If you see a full URL that isn't a clickable link -- for example, http://www.example.com/ -- you can select it with your mouse and then right-click, and Firefox should offer the option to open it.
