Can't access computer. Firefox hangs and can't be turned off. None of Mozilla solutions work. New Imac only shows user sign on, but closes after a few seconds before I can access Finder, Firefox icon oor anything else etc. Turning the computer off doesn't terminate Firefox. Message says a copy of Firefox is already in use.

Thanks...but I posted from my old computer....my new comp has the latest version of Firefox.

The new computer won't let me access anything...so it's now in the shop!

Try closing the Firefox process from the Activity Monitor. Steps:

Hit Command + spacebar to bring up the Spotlight search Search for "Activity Monitor" Press Enter/Return and the Activity MOnitor will be up Look for Firefox in the processes list (you will see the Firefox icon next to it) Select it and hit "x" to close it. If you see more than one Firefox entry, close them all. Restart computer.

Also, I see you're on Firefox 33.0. I would recommend upgrading to the latest version of Firefox to eliminate some of the problems.

Hope that helps!
