So yeah, I would like to know how to add tabs and sort emails like gmail ya know.

Using filters is too much hardwork.. Isn't there a add-on or a feature thats coming up? :)

Thanks

Gmail tabs' is just another name for sorting emails into default created folders based on default filters.

Gmail stores all mail in All Mail folder. It applies 'labels and tabs' to emails in the All Mail folder to make it look like they are stored in various 'folders'.

Gmails says it 'separate our incoming mail into categories'.

So the Inbox has just got resorted. I found that it was really a fancy name for sorting a load of junk and spam into something other than Junk folder.

Then you have to go through retraining gmail tab filters so they learn how you want it to work. I also have a fully trained Junk folder, so it already dumps what gmail tabs think is 'promotional' in Junk.

So if use tabs in gmail, then you can used IMAP.

If you are looking for this as a general use for any account in Thunderbird, then I don't know of anything in the pipeline.

In Thunderbird, Creating folders and filters is so easy and fast and you get exactly what you want.
