more options

I am running windows 7 4 gigs ram amd dual core. when I start firefox everthing runs ok then a white box shows up in the middle of the page. then it stops working. when I try to click any button the only thing I get is a beeping sound. my opening page is changed to cool search. I have ran spybot search and destroy, malwarebytes anti-malware pro, iobit anti-malware fighter, exterminate it, and I have avg antivires internet security and none of them find anything in firefox. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it again but I get the same thing again. can some one please help me.

I did like you said it didn't work. I disabled aol tool bar. the same thing still happened. so I tried a refresh in safe mode and it starts ok now.

hi clammierfrog, this might be an issue caused by the aol toolbar. please try launching firefox into safemode by pressing the shift key after you double-click its desktop icon, go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and disable the toolbar there.
