When JC Penney sends me an email, I click on it and it opens to Penneys with a lot of blank boxes/squares with small "x's" in them. That is all I see........white squares....how do I open it up to their webpage?

Hi ChaCha,

Do you see something similar to "Click here to display images"? Some email clients will block images by default for security reasons.

If you don't see that, does anything happen if you click on one of the boxes? They might be linked to JC Penney's website.

Hope that helps. -Curtis

No, I do not see "click here to display images." I was trying to download and print out a 10% coupon they sent me. I clicked on all of the boxes with "x's" in them, but nothing happened. I do not have this trouble with any other retailer.

Look around the whole message. There may be a link to open the message as a web page.

Yes, if I click on one of those small x's, I can open up their webpage. However, they sent me a coupon, and I cannot download it as the picture of the coupon does not show up on my computer screen. I saw the coupon on my Iphone, so I sent it from my Iphone to my computer at home, but had the same problem.....it doesn't show up on my screen.

Go to your options at the mail site and check everything. Also contact their support.

I went to OPTIONS.......then under GENERAL, I checked "Automatically display folders with unread messages." Is this what you are talking about?

The problem is not with folders. Look for anything about images, pics . . . . .

I don't understand what you mean.

Hi ChaCha, every email site handles images differently. Could you mention whether you are using Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.?

Also, could you check whether Firefox is set to block images for the site hosting the images. Here's how:

While viewing the message, right-click the area where the images are. If the wording "This Frame" appears on the menu, expand that, and choose View Page Info or View Frame Info from that part of the menu. If the wording "This Frame" does not appear on the menu, use View Page Info.

In this dialog, click the Media button at the top. This should list all the media files in the page. Click the first item on the list and start arrowing down one by one, keeping an eye on the "Block images from" box above the preview area. If you discover that any sites are blocked, you can clear the checkbox to unblock them. Once you are done, close this dialog and if you made any changes, reload the page to fetch the message again.

I am using Comcast.

How do I find the "View Image Info" column. I am lost.....this is too confusing for me.

Is your Comcast email Xfinity Connect? Here is a thread from their forums showing where the "Load images automatically" setting is, and explaining Lite mode vs. Full mode. Another thread said that images might not show in Lite mode.

If the images are embedded and not attached then they might be embedded as Content-ID (src="cid:image"). If that is the case then you would have to use an email program.
