Firefox stops working after some time

Posted

i have windows 7 64 bit machine and having firefox 36.0.1 and firebug , i did fresh installation 2/3 times but of now use.

here are the issues i am facing .

if i restart my machine firefox works for some time later its opened tab or newly open tabs keeps rolling nothing happens no site gets loaded ,even my web application (localhost) page doesn't open up if i close the firefox the page gets closed but firefox.exe keeps running which doesn't allow me to open new instance of firefox if i do so i get error message old process is already running and later comes your profile is missing or inaccessible i try to kill that process but nothing happens to it i did installation on other drive as well but nothing is working for me i created new profiles but that is also didn't work

i am really frustrated this is happening since last two days i can't work without firefox as i need it to debug my scripts using firebug

i have submitted crash report as well ... what should i do ???

I think checking for this file at startup is a way that Firefox detects and stops multiple instances of Firefox from trying to use the same profile folder, which could totally corrupt many of the settings files. When Firefox exits normally, it should remove the file.

Current Firefox version do not remove the parent.lock file, but use the file to detect startup failures (crashes) and offer to start in Safe mode by comparing its time stamp with the value of the last successful start. If this file can't be updated because it is locked by another Firefox instance or otherwise locked then you an alert that Firefox can't be started.
