How do I unblock Firefox after accidentally blocking it

I was browsing when I got a pop up saying someone was sending data into my computer (or something similar) with the choice of allow; allow once or block. It was not clear to me that it was Mozilla trying to access so I said block and quickly discovered I could no longer use Firefox as my browser, A couple of hours snooping around McAfee, Windows Action centre (on Windows 8) have not found a solution.

I am hoping there is a simpler solution that deleting the existing files and re-installing. Cheers Mitch

Chosen solution

Blocking must be really using an Avtivirus program. Disconnect the internet for a movement and disable all antivirus softwares and windows firewall and see if you are able to run firefox again.

If you have sync setup.. Try reinstalling FireFox.

Using the verbage Block it must be windows firewall.

don't forget to turn back the antivirus software and other settings before you switch internet back on.
