How can I set the period I store deleted emails before finally deleting them?

When I delete emails from my inbox etc, it is useful to keep them in Trash before finally deleting them. I would like to set the period before they finally disappear

if you right-click on your trash-folder then Properties / retention policy. Unmark use my accounts setting Mark delete messages more than and set how many days. Unmark always keep starred messages
