How do I open .ICS files in Firefox?

I receive a calendar from a website I often reference and suddenly the calendar is being sent as an .ICS file, and I have no installed software to open this file type, and a web search doesn't yield any software that works with Firefox, there is lots to work with Thunderbird though.

You "receive"? Like via email? If so, they may expect their users to be using an email program that provides native support for .ics files. Firefox doesn't "do email", but rather it allows the user to view webmail via software installed at the webmail hosting website - that displays that 'mail' as a webpage.

Looks like those are iCalendar type files. Firefox doesn't support that file type, so if you can't find a Add-on for Firefox that adds support to Firefox for that type of file, you'll have to use another program which provides native support or has an Add-on available.

Thank you, I will try to find an Addon. This is a site on the web, I click on a tab for schedule and a calendar with the details should appear. Up until this past weekend this happened, of course, the file type was not ICS. So, if there is no addon, I would appreciate some input as to a free, easy to install program that will open an ICS file.

I need a a way to open .an ICS file in Firefox, not in Thunderbird, this file is not embedded or attached to a Thunderbird email. Thank you
