My inbox keeps asking for a password, but when I put it in it doesn't work. How to fix?
'kay, I don't know what's wrong, but I have a couple of theories: 1) I sent a whole whack of pictures to my email account "monarque@shaw.ca" (I'm using a different email to contact you since I can't get through on my main email). The account I signed up with is "tvqueen13@shaw.ca". Both accounts have exactly the same settings, but tvqueen13 works and monarque doesn't. Maybe I clogged up the monarque email account? If so, how can I fix it? 2) I have both Emsisoft Anti-Malware and AVG Security 2014 (bought, not free), but somehow got a rash of infections of Trojan Horses (ie. TrojanHorseInject2.BJPG & BJPP, TrojanHorseMSIL6.UOM & MSIL4.ALBK). I have been working with Emsisoft to clean my computer, but no matter what tools I use, AVG still says I have an infection (or more) in my temp files. I had to uninstall AVG to run something and have not reinstalled it yet. Emsisoft says I'm all good, but I don't think so. I keep getting adware hijacking my websites too. I'm at the point where I think I'll have to swap out my C drive. So ... can you help me get my monarque@shaw.ca email to work again? Thanks, Kelsey Monarque

oh and log into the web mail at shaw and move any of those large emails you spoke of in the beginning onto another folder on the server. Moving them from the inbox will unblock the download of new mail, if that is the cause.

have you contacted shaw to see if they have disabled the account at all, perhaps for sending spam?
Hey Matt, yes I did call Shaw and they assured me it had nothing to do with them. However, about the same time I started having problems with my TiVo connecting to get program info. I've had to manually reset it every day for about two weeks already. I also have Shaw Gateway just because I have to to get digital channels. Anyway, Shaw won't help with TiVo, but still denies it has anything to do with my problems. Thanks,
Kelsey
My guess is all the issues are probably related and fall back to malware.
AVG is probably correct in identifying malware. So I suggest you try some cleaning tools other than Emsisoft .
ones I use (all of them one after the other until I find one that can cope) are; Roguekiller http://www.adlice.com/softwares/roguekiller/ Malwarebytes anti malware Free http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/var2/confirm/ ESET online scanner http://www.eset.com/int/home/products/online-scanner/
So first create a clean boot in Windows using Microsoft's instructions https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0 and then run the anti malware applications.
My outside looking in guess is that malware has set itself up as an internet proxy and is is downloading copies of itself and other malware, blocking some mail port as times as downloading more malware is more important, and probably breaking your tivo as well..
Try the malware programs first. If that does not work I will try and talk you through some logging to see what is happening.
Hey Matt, me again. I had just sent you an email, but I don't think it got through. I was very touched that you cared enough to respond and for all of your good suggestions and links. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I still have the TrojanHorseInject2.BJPG and I still can't access my "monarque@shaw.ca" email account. I'm at my wit's end (it doesn't help that I'm still fighting the flu since Christmas Eve).
Any other suggestions? Or should I just swap out my C drive? Thanks,
Kelsey
P.S. I have a couple of reports if there is a way to get them to you.

Whoo hoo! Logging into my Shaw webmail online did the trick to get my "monarque@shaw.ca" email account working again!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Still working on the stupid TrojanHorseInject2.BJPG thing though. I now know how to get into the bios (msconfig.exe) and can run it in safe mode with networking, so will try that and re-run all of my virus killer tools. Wish me luck and thanks again!
