How do I get the "Reply" Reply All" "Forward" "Delete" icons to be in color for Windows 8.1??
Would like these tabs in color...right now they work but are "grey-ed out".

When I don't like the default appearance of Thunderbird, I go and look for a theme. I suggest you try a few.
I think you'll need "full" (aka "complete") themes, not the lightweight ones.

I can't recommend any one of them in particular for Windows as I'm using Linux here and now, and it has its own distinctive style.
On my windows computer at work, I find that I like the no-glass, no-aero or xp default styles. I am not a fan of the translucency that is default in Windows these days.
