duplicate emails when moved to new folder

Hi, I'm using thunderbird with hotmail using imap connection. I moved 1000 emails to new folder (created/moved using thunderbird 31.4.0), during the move its dupicated all my emails so i now have 42338 emails.. any ideas why this has happened?

Hi I would like this escalated to Thunderbird support team,

It's happened again, it is only when I archive emails using thunderbird with my Hotmail/outlook email.

If you file a years worth of emails, it generates 100 of duplicates per email so I have 40,000+ emails..

What is causing this issue?
