I had to reinstall Windows 8.1 on my desktop. Sync would not work - incorrect password. Used Android device to get change to password for sync. Changed PW from desktop, kept PW in paste buffer. Cannot log in, despite FF accepting new password. Even had to create new account, since asking a question creates a login request... which is denied.

Reload past the cache at accounts.firefox.com: Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.

OR

  • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
  • Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)

Try to disconnect and reconnect to Sync.

You can also try to delete the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder with Firefox closed.
