Prevent same file name from being downloaded -- Don't put (1) or (2), etc before file extension
Let's say I save a file to a download directory -- for example, "Cat Video.mp4".
Then, let's say later on I find another video that I'm not sure if I've already downloaded it yet, so I try again. By default, what happens if that "Cat Video.mp4" already exists in the folder, FireFox will download the file as a different one, but this time as "Cat Video(1).mp4". In my case, I want to either NOT download the video or PROMPT me to overwrite. I don't want to automatically just download the same video/file and append (1), (2), etc. at the end of it.
Is there a setting in FireFox or a plug in / add in that will allow for this functionality?
Thanks!

There are multiple download managing extensions. I've never used any of them, but it might be worth a try. Here's one I found, but there's tons more: http://www.downthemall.net/
