When I type into a firefox window the typing comes up backwards, for example ABCD appears as DCBA any solutions?
I have been a keen user of Mozilla Firefox for several years, but recently anything that I type into Google or any window opened from a bookmark comes out backwards e.g. ABCD appears as DCBA. I also have access to Internet Explorer and this works perfectly. I don't know what I am doing wrong, any suggestions? I am using Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium. Thanks

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Thanks for the advice, but I have started in Safe Mode and disabled Add Ons but problem still exists. Thanks I have had to write this reply in Word and copy and paste because I can’t type backwards!!
Did you also try to disable plugins?
You can check for issues caused by plugins and set all plugins to "Ask to Activate" on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page (plugins are not affected by Firefox Safe Mode)
This happens when the cursor is fixed and not advanced after typing a character. This causes already typed characters to get pushed to the right to make place for the new character that appears up front. In the past a Java applet that runs in another tab had been reported to cause this issue.

Add ons all disabled and Plugins are “Ask to activate” still no difference. Cor-el is right the cursor doesn’t move and therefore all characters are typed in front.
There's a setting, I forget where, that has Firefox going right to left.

That is something different and that has to do with the BIDI text direction RTL versus LTR.
Did you try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox?
Try to open a new window in case there is a problem with the current window.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
