Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server --- responded: Invalid userid/password
I've read the other two posts about this issue and tried all the suggestions but nothing works and I still get the same problem. This started a couple of days ago with no change to my password or server.
Re-installing TBird is a no go because I have so many email accounts. All of the others are working fine - all on the same server too.
Server admin has told me that account is showing no attempts to access the server.
They see email coming in to the server but no pop/imap connections. So something is happening on my end.
Do you have any other suggestions?

There really is a limited number of options.
1. Your account settings are simply wrong. Please copy to clipboard and paste here the Troubleshooting information on the help menu. 2. Your anti virus is messing up. Try rebooting in Windows safe mode with networking 3. Some other security software is messing up. Try rebooting in Windows safe mode with networking 4. You have an add-on that is making life difficult. Hold shift while you start Thunderbird to put it into it's own safe mode.

It turns out the new password I used was fine for Plesk and logging in via webmail but for some reason Tbird was not happy with some of the characters in the pw.
I changed the pw again to only have letters and number and now it works fine.
It's a pity because I like to use super secure passwords. Here's the now defunct pw that was fine for webmail but which Tbird didn't like.

Maybe you can identify the offending character/s?
