Is "File.org" one of your approved sites for Firefox downloads?
This is sort of a straight question. I keep receiving update download notices from this company for FireFox and other apps ... is it safe?

No, Mozilla uses our own network for downloads, file.org is not affiliated with Firefox or Mozilla. I would scan for malware and make sure that you don't have any on your system. Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

. Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated;
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS
While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus. Any time you want or need to check for upgrades, go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question. For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org. {web link}
You can also report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

Thank you for your reply. Your words echo what I thought all the time and I did delete them. Again, thanks I hope this helps others as well. It's hard to tell safe from not safe and that I why I asked and I do go to the provider's website to update programs. Timbercove
