How do I "right click" when I have a touch pad (MacBook Air) and not a mouse?

Just learning to use Thunderbird . Have only used Outlook Express for years but it's not supported on my MacBook laptop so have a huge learning curve. When searching in Help, instructions often say "right click". How do I "right click" with a touchpad?
